My Story
What I Was Born To Do
Technology quickly took over when I was in high school and when i graduated, we had just received DSL in my area.
I loved web design back then before the widespread use of CMS like WordPress. Web builders weren't so advanced or customizable and shoddy geocities websites that one could create for free with a little HTML and CSS knowledge became the scourge of your Internet browsing experience. I had taken several computer and software courses by the time I graduated high school.
A few in web design, others in data entry and software such as Excel. All of which were just an escape from the academic work I had no desire to complete except for reading and writing, which I always enjoyed.
I was creating websites for fun, learning HTML, CSS, Java, and C++ when I was in middle school and through that learned a bunch of little tricks that undoubtedly through my school's admins for a loop. I knew others that were more experienced and well-rounded than I was so I let them teach me. By the time WordPress rolled around, I was so used to creating websites from code in a txt file it took me a long time to get onboard with the ease of access that CMS would come to provide.
For me, technology, software, web design, programming, SEO and all our cute acronyms for relative rights - it's my passion. I do what I enjoy and just happen to make enough money to survive. This is living a dream..
When I decided to market my handmade resin art and jewelry online through platforms like Etsy and Mercari, I was able to use all my knowledge and experience to leverage my sales. Even though I was just one person creating each made to order item by hand, posting it in a listing, posting about it on social media, paying for super low budget advertising online - I quickly saw that even just one person barely hitting those marks could make a significant difference.
My experience as a small business owner and sole proprietor operating solely off a virtual storefront has allowed me to enhance the lives of others using the same techniques I used to generate 1500+ sales, 600+ 5 star reviews, and enough cash to "quit my day job" and do something I loved for a living.
All of this before I put my Etsy store on hiatus last year to focus on buying a house so I could take on bigger projects.
There really is no request that is too big or too small to optimize and launch online. I want to give others the same positive experience I had through teaching and passing on my hard work that helped me manifest my own dreams into reality over the past seven years.
Digital Saints was the original name an online (Steam) PC Gaming clan founded by Samantha, and high school best friend, Nicole Holmen, back in 2010. It boasted a roster of the maximum 100 active members, hosted its own servers, and primarily focused on the PVE / PVP FPS games Killing Floor, Team Fortress, and Left 4 Dead before becoming defunct over time.
You may still add Samantha on Steam, but these days you will find her playing games like League of Legends, Overwatch, and Stardew Valley when she isn't busy working and spending time with her fiance and orange ball of fluff, Shady. A St. Augustine native/ Florida native still hanging around Palm Coast, Florida.
